Multiple Users / Network

Yes. Any computer with a web browser can connect to PowerIMS and use it.

PowerIMS Standard and Premium editions can support multiple users. The 5-user version will support up to 5 simultaneous users, and the 10-user version will support up to 10 users.

Multiuser mode in PowerIMS is enabled by default; you do not need to do anything, aside from starting PowerIMS.

No. The Free edition can be used by only 1 user at a time.

Yes. PowerIMS has 6 user levels that you can select from when you first create a user.

Go to "Company Settings" in the left hand menu and click on "Employees". This will bring you to the employee control page. From here, you can add, edit, or delete an employee.

Yes. Your PowerIMS server is already a functioning web server, so all that needs to be done is connect your PowerIMS server to the internet.

If the machine running PowerIMS has a direct connection to the internet, nothing needs to be done. It's ready to go.

However, most likely your network is behind a router using NAT (network address translation) and a firewall.

In this case your router will block incoming requests from the internet. What needs to be done is to configure your router/firewall so that port 80 (web service) traffic is forwarded to your PowerIMS server. Alternatively, you may place your PowerIMS server in a DMZ (demilitarized zone).

Please keep in mind that exposing your network to the internet will raise security risks. We recommend that you consult with a networking professional first.

Pricing and Support

PowerIMS comes in three editions: Free, Standard, and Premium.

The Free edition is free forever -- no trial period, no expiration date.

PowerIMS Standard edition starts at $99 USD, and PowerIMS Premium edition starts at $149. For more details, please see our full pricing information.

Yes, our prices reflect discount for multiple user licenses already.

If you only need the basics, we offer the Free edition, which you can use forever at no charge -- no strings attached. We want everybody to experience how much easier life is with a computerized inventory system compared to traditional methods of handling inventory, purchasing, and sales. Then you can easily upgrade to the paid edition any time if you want to.

The Free edition has a limit of 30 customers and 30 products.

The Standard and Premium editions have no limit.

Standard and Premium editions come with 3 months of support. After that you may purchase an extended support plan if you wish.

The free edition does not come with support. However, you may refer to the Product Manual for help.

Purchase and Licensing

You can buy PowerIMS online here. We accept payment via credit card and PayPal.

All of our online payment is done through PayPal's secured website. When you click the "Buy Now" or "Subscribe" button, you will be sent to the secured PayPal payment website, where you enter in your credit card and other info.

In fact, since PayPal handles all of our payment services, we won't even know your credit card number or PayPal account info.

PowerIMS will allow you to create a set number of system users. (system user means any user who does not belong to the "No Access" group) For example, PowerIMS 10-user version will allow you to create 10 users.

As a security feature, and also as a licensing control, PowerIMS does not allow a user account to be logged on at the same time from two different computers. For example, if Joe is logged in from computer A, and someone on computer B tries to login as Joe, the system will not allow computer B to login as Joe until the user on computer A logs out (or until computer A's session times out due to 10 minutes of inactivity).

Software version upgrades will be provided to customers with an active support plan for free upon request.

Migrating

If you don't need the data you have in the Free edition (for instance you were only inputing sample data as a test), then simply uninstall the Free edition and install the Standard edition.

If you do have real data in the Free edition that you need to preserve:

Purchase the Standard edition, but don't install the software. Run the migration utility (migrate.exe), which is included in the package, and follow the on-screen instructions.

If you don't need the data you have in the Free edition (for instance you were only inputing sample data as a test), then simply uninstall the Free edition and install the Standard edition.

If you do have real data in the Free edition that you need to preserve:

Purchase the Premium edition, but don't install the software. Run the migration utility (migrate.exe), which is included in the package, and follow the on-screen instructions.
